Unique Services Provided by Senior Real Estate Specialists

If the U.S. Census Bureau estimates prove true, the number of people 50+ living in Texas, will increase dramatically in the next quarter century. For many, they intend on buying a new house when they retire because they want live in a more affordable area, one that  perhaps offers a warmer climate and (for many) that is closer to their grandchildren.

To accommodate the growing needs of the baby boomers and their parents, there are now Texas Realtors who specialize in working specifically with there individual needs, with anything from selling their current residence and downsizing, buying something smaller with less maintenance, to selling and relocating all together.

Additionally, they also assist seniors (ages 65+) and a growing number in Texas, who haven't sold a house in years. For many, they may find the process of selling and moving quite overwhelming, and the reason they engage the services of a Realtor that specializes in their unique needs through their SRES Designation.

An SRES® designee can help you make wise decisions about selling the family home, financing, buying rental property, or managing the capital gains and tax implications of owning real estate, among many other issues. Seniors Real Estate Specialists® offer clients relevant information on current trends in senior real estate transactions, and can refer you to other professionals such as attorneys and C.P.A.s who also have specialty interest in senior clientele issues.

A national program since 1998, the council now has Seniors Real Estate Specialists® in all 50 states and Canada and adds hundreds of new members every month.

SRES members are not qualified to give legal or tax advice and the SRES Council does not guarantee the accuracy of its members' information. All clients are strongly urged to contact a real estate attorney or certified public accountant to obtain legal or tax advice.

These highly trained professionals understand the special concerns and unique needs of seniors and their adult children and therefore, are able to guide them through the process. They are acutely aware of the many senior housing options, moving and relocating services, as  well as financial service professionals who specialize in products such as Reverse Mortgages...many are available to assist with referring these type of services available in their communities.

For some, these Realtors can assist their client whose need to relocate is due to health issues, and therefore, need to sell their current residence and look at moving to a retirement or assisted living community...or perhaps closer to family.  For others, their clients goal may be to simply downsize so they can simply lock it up and hit the road.
