At Homewatch CareGivers
of the Woodlands serving
The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe, Champions and Tomball we strive to provide
the highest quality service from our caregivers. Our rigorous training
programs have translated into some of the most accomplished caregivers
anywhere. With the combination of an in-house classroom, training
room, and learning center,
we are recognized as a forerunner in producing consistently well-trained
and long-tenured caregivers.
To provide the best in client care
as well as to keep the home care costs down, Homewatch Caregivers
of The Woodlands is e associated with a Nurse Practitioner that
specializes in Geriatrics, geared to aging in place in the home.
We also employ a Registered Nurse that can supervise and train Caregivers
and offer nurse delegation specific to clientís needs. A Licensed
Vocational Nurse that is available to do evaluations and update
plans of care. We also work in conjunction with home health agencies
and hospice, etc. to promote the best quality of care for our clients.
To Homewatch CareGivers of the
Woodlands, elder/senior home care is taking into account the needs
of the client whether their needs are grocery shopping, assistance
with baths, toileting, or catering to emotional needs. It goes beyond
clinical with elder care too. Clients may not have much socialization
and feel isolated, so our caregivers strive to bring the human connection
back into their life. We take into account our clientís personality
and interests, and related activities follow.
Our comprehensive home care assistance
plans for seniors are customized to individual needs and may include:
personal grooming assistance, housekeeping, errands, transportation
services, help with medication reminders and nutritional needs,
or assistance with the use of new or existing ambulation or transfer
devices. We are ready when you are in a crunch, with trained caregivers
who are fully background checked, bonded and insured.
Temporary health setbacks may require
extra help at home; our trained caregivers can provide quality care
and assistance in your moment of need whether you need senior care,
prenatal or post-natal care, or back up childcare. Too many of us
donít know where to turn when a loved one needs assistance and we
are unprepared, whether this is due to a last minute change in condition,
schedule or if the regular care plan falls through.
At least 60 Ė 80 % of our clients
suffer from Dementia. When we have a client that has dementia, our
caregivers preform safety precautions to make sure clients arenít
left alone and are monitored closely. Sometimes persons with dementia
may have distortions regarding time and space, and our caregivers
make sure the room/house is well lit to help prevent falls and confusion.
We also strive to make life less complicated for our dementia clients.
For example, if we assist with dressing we give them only a couple
of choices so as not to overwhelm and increase confusion. We may
also incorporate things into the environment to help such as using
a large calendar to help them understand what day and year it currently
for Chronic Conditions
We have had many clients in The
Woodlands area who have needed chronic care management, most specifically
diabetes. Due to the fact that diabetes is the most prevalent chronic
condition that we care for, all of our caregivers are required to
take courses within Homewatch University in regards to diabetes.
We make sure our caregivers are trained in preparing heart healthy
foods, maintaining blood glucose levels, assisting with obtaining
blood glucose levels, and insulin (if needed) through nurse delegation
for Degenerative Disorders
When it comes to Degenerative Diseases,
we have assisted most frequently people with home care for MS (multiple
sclerosis) and Parkinsonís, as well as ALS. We cross train all of
our caregivers on these disorders, via our Homewatch University,
and in house one-on-one training with our RN at our training room.
Before ever putting a caregiver with a client that has one of these
disorders, we take into consideration caregivers training and experience.
Many times even if they have had training and past experience with
Parkinsonís or Multiple Sclerosis, we still bring them in to go
over their knowledge and skills. This ensures that clients with
a degenerative disorder receive the special care they need.
After surgery care goes on a case
by case basis. Generally when we are called in to assist someone
after they have had a surgery our caregivers will assist with meal
prep, toileting, being there to keep them safe until the anesthesia
affects have subsided, and also to assist with reminding the Client
that they need to take their pain control meds.
As the home care experts in The
Woodlands, we understand that it takes time to recover from hip
replacement surgery, knee replacement surgery, plastic surgery,
heart surgery, and dental surgery. We can help make the transition
back to you home and everyday life easier and more comfortable.
