Many times, family members out of love may attempt to take over the responsibility of caring for a parent or a sibling themselves.  Unfortunately, this generous act can sometimes put tremendous strain on their existing relationship.

The family member can quickly become overwhelmed by the additional responsibility, leading to feelings of resentment, while the receiver of care experiences guilt and diminished self-worth for shifting this burden to a loved one.  A personal companion is the perfect solution.

CareWorks is a customer focused, state licensed home care agency of professionals and trained caregivers providing senior care services.  OUR CAREGIVERS are carefully screened, insured, bonded and *trained so you can trust you are getting the best possible assistance.

Special Training - Disease Specific Care - We recognize the fact that certain illnesses and afflictions are more common to seniors. Therefore, we provide special training, produced by Healing Arts Communications (Recipient of the 2005 Honorable Distinction Award from the American Society on Aging) for our caregivers. This program provides training on communicating and caring for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and related Dementia, Parkinson’s and Aphasia (Stroke) which ensures a higher level of care for our clients.

CARE SERVICES

Free Consultation
A care manager will conduct a phone interview to determine if an assessment needs to be scheduled.

Personal Care
Assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing,  and personal hygiene.  Supervision of ambulation and assistance to prevent falls.

Medication
R.N. delegation and Home Health Aid administration or just reminders for scheduled daily medication.

Companion Care
Letter writing, reading, playing  games, hobbies, viewing  photo albums, socializing, conversation and friendship.  Going on walks and encouraging participation in stimulating activities.  Helping with correspondence to family and friends.

Sitters
For home, hospital or nursing home clients.

Meals
Planning, shopping, and preparation of meals in accordance with clients dietary needs; clean-up and assistance with feeding when necessary.

Light Housekeeping
Dusting, vacuuming, tidying kitchen / bathroom, bringing in mail, taking out trash, changing of bed linens, laundry of both bed linens and clients personal items.

Errands
Shopping, post office, beauty or barber shop, doctors appointments, dental or therapy visits.

Live-ins
For safety, emotional support, supervision and peace of mind.

Respite
Relief for family caregivers.

Assistance with Family Pets
In-home feeding, changing of litter box, walking, playing and daily care.

About the Founders

CareWorks is owned by William and Holly Hardy. William is a third generation Houstonian and Holly is a fifth generation Houstonian.  They love Houston and the people of Houston, especially our senior citizens.

William Hardy, Jr., co-founder and president of CareWorks in Houston, Texas is a leader in the eldercare community and an advocate for the well-being and dignity of our senior citizens. Active in the Houston community, he has served and continues to work with a number of charities and other organizations: Active in the Alzheimer’s Association (2005 - present), Active in the Elder Service Providers Network (2005 - present), Active in the American Case Management Association (2005 – 2006), Volunteer Children’s Miracle Network (2001 - 2002), Served as Chairman of a committee for the United Way (1998 – 2000), Served on an Advisory Board, North Harris County College (1996), Lead a Bible study group in Downtown Houston (1999-2001), Active member and volunteer Kinsmen Lutheran Church (1996 to present).

If you are a Veteran or the Surviving Spouse of a Veteran, you will be pleased to know that CareWorks is a Veteran's Home Care Specialist.  You may be eligible for VA Aid and Attendant Pension Benefits that can cover all or most of your home care costs! Consider this: The approval rate for private individuals who apply directly to the VA on their own is only slightly above 30%. Our approval rate is 95%!
