patients wherever they reside-in homes, assisted living facilities,
long term care facilities or hospitals. Our dedicated team of Odyssey

patient, family and physician.
Wherever
you are whenever you need us, we are here for you. Care/Respect/Dignity.
The end of life can be a deeply meaningful time
filled with love and profound care. Yet it can also seem confusing and
isolating and even painful. It is during this journey that Odyssey Healthcare
offers compassion, comfort and care.
Specialized
hospice care is more a concept, rather than a specific
place. Also known as a type of "palliative" or comfort care, hospice
affirms life and does not hasten the end of life. It is the model for
quality, compassionate care for people coping with a life-limiting
illness.
Odyssey
Healthcare's interdisciplinary team members focus on the
physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their loved
ones, offering the care they choose in their home and a variety of
settings.
Our
family of caregiver’s assist with real concerns, relieving and
managing medical symptoms, helping with a wide range of needs of our
patients and their loved ones. With professional, compassionate care,
the heart of our mission is to improve the quality of life for our
patients.
When
is Hospice Needed?
When medical treatments cannot cure an illness,
Odyssey may be needed. We help patients and their families when an
illness is progressive and irreversible, and comfort care is desired. Typically the patients physician and the Odyssey physician agree that
the patient has an estimated life expectancy of six months or less. We aggressively treat the
symptoms caused by the disease when the disease
cannot be cured.
Medicare Covers Hospice at 100%
Odyssey
accepts the Medicare and Medicaid hospice benefit as payment in full
for it's services with no out of pocket expenses for patients and their families.
We also work closely with Private Insurance Companies
and Managed
Care Organizations to maximize available hospice benefits subject
to applicable co-payment ad deductible amounts.
Our care enables patients to live
each day to the fullest, while sharing the time that remains in the
supportive circle of family and friends. It is not simply what we do.
It is who we are.
