Anytime Dining

Merrill Gardens is proud to offer its exclusive Anytime Dining program to residents. This innovative program gives residents the flexibility to choose their meal times, just like they did when they lived in their private homes. Anytime Dining means residents can enjoy restaurant style meals on their own schedule. Residents come to the dining room anytime during the day, and they don’t have to plan their activities around set meal times. Anytime Dining lets residents decide when and what they like to eat.

With Anytime Dining, the stress over the possibility of a missed meal during outings or visits is gone. Most importantly, it meets the Merrill Gardens goal of providing residents the opportunity to choose how they live their lives.

Anytime Dining means that the dining room opens at 7:30 am for a hot breakfast, which is available until 9:00 a.m. Continental breakfast continues until 11:00 a.m. Throughout the day, residents can come to the dining room until 6:00 p.m. and choose from a list of hot entrees, soup, salad, fresh bread and desserts. Instead of cooking everything at once, meals are cooked in batches so the food is fresh all day.

The purpose of Anytime Dining is not to get residents to eat at different hours; it’s to give them flexibility and choice.

Restaurant Style Dining

With our Anytime Dining program you not only have the flexibility of eating when you want – but also the freedom to choose what you want to eat. Socialize with friends as we serve you restaurant style. Our menus are customized to reflect the regional food preferences of each community and give you an opportunity to ask for a cooked-to-order meal right on the spot. Enjoy the chefs special or the variety of daily entrees. Our menus always include a hot breakfast, continental breakfast, main entrιes with complimentary sides, homemade soups, salads and something for the sweet tooth. We look forward to serving you.

Dietitian Services

Merrill Gardens is pleased to partner with Crandall & Associates, the nation’s largest dietary consulting firm, providing comprehensive menu programs and dietary consulting services for skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Over the past 35 years, Crandall has developed complete best practice clinical and management systems focusing on dietary quality assurance and budget compliance. They work with several national chains and management companies as well as individually owned/managed properties.

At Merrill Gardens, our dining menus are carefully reviewed and approved by our dietary staff to ensure that residents enjoy well balanced and nutritious meals. Special accommodations are made for residents dietary restrictions.

Assisted Living

Caring vs. Providing Care
Our Assisted Living Service Program is focused on nurturing residents to help them reach their maximum potential. Our staff seeks to foster independence rather than dependence, and to be sensitive to the individuality, privacy and freedom of choice to which our residents are entitled. In short, care is something we do, not simply a service we provide.

Personal Care Services
Our program generates an individually tailored service plan that supports the resident's own ability to perform activities of daily living. Services we can assist with may include:

Responding to Change
We meet the changing needs of our residents by offering a fee structure that addresses the degree of need and frequency of interaction. The resident's monthly fee may increase or decrease as their needs change. Our trained staff documents services provided, and notes trends that may demonstrate a higher level of need.

Team Work
It's a team effort that works best. In order to meet our residents' needs, we are in frequent contact with families as well as physicians, counselors or therapists to discuss any challenges we may encounter.

Alzheimer's and Dementia Care

Merrill Gardens calls our dementia care area the Garden House. At the Garden House, we are committed to providing your loved ones with Alzheimer's Disease, or related memory impairment, care in a home-like atmosphere. Garden House residents can enjoy:

Personal Pathways Activity Program

The journey along a pathway is often more important than the destination, especially in dementia care. Personal Pathways is Merrill Gardens' program for the Garden House that focuses on meaningful activities. Our goal is to help maintain independence and quality of life during the progression of Alzheimer's and related dementias. Personal Pathways offers activity choices that allow each resident to spend time in ways that can be meaningful and enjoyable to them. Each resident has a Personal Life History completed upon move-in to let us know of individual activities that may be of interest to them. Specially trained caregivers incorporate meaningful activities into daily life in the Garden House. Caregivers are encouraged to facilitate creative activities respecting the uniqueness of each community and individual. The Personal Pathways component allows individual differences in locale, culture, needs and interests to be accommodated. Family participation is encouraged.

Family Support

It is important to help each resident continue to be involved with their family. Family members are encouraged to participate in the life of their loved one at Merrill Gardens. We want you to take advantage of support groups and participate in service planning meetings to increase your understanding of dementia, and to help us shape how it impacts your loved one and family.

Community Connection

At Merrill Gardens' Garden House, we often participate in events and social activities that reflect local community culture. Although activities and social outings may vary by location, we hope to help your loved one feel actively involved in the community.

Respite Care

Respite care at Merrill Gardens is ideal for people who need care for a few days, a week or as long as a month. Whether you need help recovering from a hospital stay or injury, or are a caregiver in need of a little break, our Respite Care program is here for you.

We are committed to providing the assistance you need, including bathing and grooming, organizing activities, providing on-site escorts, medication management and more. Call a community near you for further details and availability.
