At Home Instead Senior Care® we have the expertise to help you discuss these important matters with your family and the experience to help you make the right decision – wherever home may be.
Home Care Tailored to Your Needs
We know how difficult it can be to make the decision to get outside help. In fact, Paul and Lori Hogan founded the Home Instead Senior Care® network following Paul’s own experience caring for his grandmother for many years. And as your local Home Instead Senior Care owners, we share the Hogan's passion about caring for seniors. That’s why our offices offer a wide variety of senior home care services, resources and support delivered right in your loved one’s home and designed to be flexible to meet each individual’s needs.
Homemaker and Companionship Services
Our homemaker services are as diverse as the seniors who use them. Take a look at the homemaker services below to see how they may fit your loved one's needs.
A trusted caregiver makes life a little easier for your loved one. Already you call her every day … you shop for her … you take care of her repairs … you drive her to the doctor and help her with paperwork. You’d like to do more, but you’ve got your job and your own family to think about, too. And yet, you worry about your mom being home by herself so many days.
Our kind and thoughtful CAREGiverSM truly enjoy working with seniors and providing healthy home companionship. And we find that most seniors are much more likely to accomplish tasks and participate in favorite activities when they simply have a companion with whom to enjoy them.
There’s no doubt it can be awkward when children and grandchildren suddenly become the caregivers and have to assist with personal care tasks that can make everyone involved uncomfortable. Having someone outside the family to help with these duties allows the senior to maintain his or her sense of dignity, and to keep the details of health issues confidential while remaining sensitive to family relationships.
Below are our personal care services that we can provide to help your loved one when needed:
When you have a doctor's appointment, need to go to the hospital for tests, or simply want to do some shopping, Home Instead Senior Care® can help you get where you want to go. Completing errands need not be difficult with our senior transportation.
While Home Instead Senior Care® is not a taxi, bus, limousine, ambulance, ambulette, or transit service, we do provide incidental transportation in conjunction with our companionship services.
That means our elderly transportation services won't just pick you up and drop you at your destination. We'll help you get ready, accompany you to your appointment, take notes (at your request), stay with you until you are ready to leave, and then take you back home. And, when you return home, we will stay with you until you are settled back in and ready to safely resume your activities.
Our Transportation Services Can Help With:
There is a four hour minimum per visit, and we prefer at least a 24-hour notice. We can provide service for a single event, or on a regular schedule, 24-hours a day, seven days a week including holidays.
Memory and Dementia Care
Our Alzheimer’s care approach of encouragement and assistance, backed by advanced research and CAREGiver education, can help seniors cope with the challenges of Alzheimer’s while enabling them to continue doing what they can on their own. The Home Instead Senior Care network has developed a unique training program for Alzheimer’s and other types of dementias that is part of its CARE: Changing Aging through Research and EducationSM program.
Home Instead Senior Care Expert, Jane Potter, M.D. discusses how the Alzheimer’s training program helps caregivers preserve skills and improve quality of life.
Our CAREGivers provide the highest quality of Alzheimer's care, changing the way people live with Alzheimer’s or other dementias. CAREGivers are prepared to provide customized care that:
Most importantly, CAREGivers can provide assistance with enhancing and restoring the simple pleasures of life, such as a walk in the park, a ride in the car to get ice cream or spending time in the garden. Proven to maximize abilities and independence, such elder care activities remain one of the best treatments for the disease.
Short-Term Recovery Care
Sometimes the extra help that recovery care provides can make a difference in how soon patients can return home, and Home Instead Senior Care® is ready to assist with personal care, companionship and homemaker services.
Our non-medical recovery services include things like grocery shopping, meal preparation, running errands, caring for a pet, getting your loved one to medical appointments, and even assistance with household tasks like dusting, making beds and doing laundry. And our Home Instead Senior Care offices provide personal services such as medication reminders, dressing, bathing, grooming and feeding.
As the primary caregiver, not only do you deserve the occasional break that respite care provides, but respite care is necessary so you can recharge your physical, spiritual and emotional batteries. It’s critical that you take the time to care for yourself. Home Instead Senior Care® can provide respite care daily, weekly or as needed. We are happy to arrange care for just a few hours, overnight or 24-hour care while you’re away.
The CAREGivers of Home Instead Senior Care® are ready to step in with the same considerate care and concern for your loved one’s needs so you can get away for any reason. Whether you need to shop, attend a child’s school event, go to church, get some much needed exercise or just have lunch with a friend, our respite care services allow you to relax and enjoy, knowing your family member is well cared for in your absence. Our respite care program is also a wonderful solution when you go on vacation, travel for the holidays, or attend an out-of-town event such as a wedding or reunion.
Affordable In-Home Care for Seniors and the Elderly
At Home Instead Senior Care® we provide outstanding affordable care for seniors and work very hard to keep home care rates as affordable as possible. Rates for CAREGiver services are per hour although in certain situations we offer a discounted overnight rate.
Home Instead, Inc. demonstrates commitment to quality care through our proprietary PEAQ program – Pursuing Excellence by Advancing Quality. In fact, we commissioned J.D. Power and Associates to routinely survey CAREGivers and clients to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service.
